InterDom, a division of Funglode, Fundacion Global Democracia y Desarrollo, has been bringing to the Dominican Republic groups of American students for internships in Dominican companies and other institutions. This is a first-class, pioneering, program destined to provide an excellent opportunity for high achieving students to serve in local companies in order to provide their expertise and, at the same time, improve their Spanish language skills and knowledge of the culture as well as the political and social environment in the country. The Foundation is beginning this year another first class, advanced, internship program for Dominican students in local companies. A program for the certification of Internship Monitors will be offered later this year as a kick off for the new program. It must be understood that the introduction of high caliber internships in Dominican business practices will radically change the work environment in the country as interns are a window into the individual cultures of the companies which will contribute to creating an open and frank atmosphere. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
