Polymer Clay Workshop 2011

Thank author of this post/commentWe’re now offering Polymer Clay Workshop in Hobbes and Landes. Workshop Venues: …Hobbes and Landes, Bonifacio High Street and Build City, Shangri-La Plaza Mall

What is polymer clay?

Polymer clay is a sculptable material that can be molded into different forms of shapes and sizes that is used by hobbyists, artists and children. It is made from polymer polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and it usually contains no clay minerals. It is only called “clay” because its textures and working properties resemble those of mineral clay. Polymer clay needs to be baked in an oven to achieve a hard finish.

What materials will be used during the class?

It’s mainly polymer clay. But there are lots of brands of polymer clay today in the market, and for this class, we will use the Sculpey brand. It is made in the U.S. and is a non-toxic material. We will also use metal findings together with the clay to make pendants, key chains, bracelets, and many others.

What are the different classes being offered?

We will be offering four kinds of classes as of now to cater to the various interests of students, namely:

1. Beginner’s class

2. Advanced class

3. Special class on miniature food

4. Special class on jewelry-making

It is encouraged that students first enroll at the Beginner’s Class before joining Advanced Class or Special Class on Jewelry-making. as it will be where we’ll teach the basic principles and background in clay molding. Also, please read through the Lesson Plan for the list of things that will be done per class.

How will the class be conducted?

It’ll be a workshop. We’ll accommodate six to eight students per class, so that it will be intimate, and there will be more interaction and productivity.

What is the age requirement for joining the class?

The student must be 10 years old and above.

Where are we going to hold the class?

The Beginner’s class and the Special class for Miniature Food will be held at the Build City @ Shangri-la Plaza, Level 4 of Shangri-la Plaza Mall, Mandaluyong City.
